The workshops of the MELODY Project have officially commenced, with each project partner witnessing high levels of enthusiasm surrounding the process of music creation through the Rhythm with Signs method (developed by Orchestra Improvvisata), alongside the lyric-writing sessions.
The workshops have been launched in Rome, Foligno, and Granada, engaging young women and men with migratory backgrounds, as well as the associations supporting them.
It has become increasingly evident that the interdisciplinary nature of the proposed activities—encompassing music, songwriting, and team building—promotes experiential and accessible learning pathways.
The project demonstrates a strong local grounding, thanks to the active involvement of partner associations and participation in public events. In Rome, for instance, project participants have also performed in live settings, such as the Run Rome Marathon and the International Soup Festival.
At this mid-point, the MELODY Project remains fully aligned with the objectives outlined in the original project proposal. It continues to exhibit significant potential for both growth and replicability. The continuity of activities, the enthusiastic response from participants and the public, as well as the artistic quality achieved thus far, all serve as clear indicators of the project’s overall effectiveness.
Moreover, the inclusive methodology developed within the framework of MELODY has proven successful in fostering positive group dynamics and breaking down interpersonal barriers.
